The buildings of kindergartens No. 20 and 215 in Chisinau municipality will be renovated and made energy efficient with a grant provided by the USAID Moldova Energy Security Activity (MESA), IPN reports.
After the completion of works, energy consumption will decrease by about 60%, and over 600 children and dozens of educators and employees will benefit from better conditions at kindergartens, according to a press release.
The project will be financed according to a new mechanism, Super ESCO, which involves the redemption of investments with savings on the energy bill. The mechanism is supported by the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Finance.
MESA will provide technical assistance to ensure the full implementation of the Super ESCO Program, which after the end of the pilot phase will be transferred under the management of the National Center for Sustainable Energy (CNED). The Chisinau City Hall will provide the necessary support for the implementation of the program and of energy efficiency measures.
