Moldovan President Nicolae Timofti has received the credentials of the upcoming German Ambassador Ulrike Maria Knotz and Lithuanian Ambassador Rimantas Latakas, IPN reports.
Ulrike Maria Knotz worked between 2000 and 2003 as spokesperson for the German Embassy in the Netherlands. In 2005 she took the job of permanent representative of the German Ambassador to Algeria and in 2008 she became head of the German MFA's unit for dialogue with the Islamic world. In 2008-2011, Ulrike Maria Knotz served as Ambassador to Macedonia, and then to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Rimantas Latakas, an economist by background, in 2004-2008 worked at the Lithuanian MFA's financial management and budget division and then served as vice director of the Finance Department. After serving as Consul General in Belarus, he returned to work at the MFA's Finance Department.
