Two of the three thermoelectric plants of SA Apa-Canal Chisinau (ACC) have been closed by SA Moldova-Gaz owing to debts, deputy mayor Vlad Cotet informed at Monday’s meeting of the municipal services and divisions, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to Cotet, the discussions held with Moldova-Gaz and Chisinau-Gaz produce no results. The capital city is ready for the heating season, but given that the two boiler rooms have been sealed up, the residents of the Aiprot zone and Codru town are not supplied with heat.
ACC director Constantin Becciev said only the boiler room of the Psychiatry Hospital works. The apartment building located in the vicinity of the hospital will be connected to the heating system the coming days. Becciev said that on October 20, the ACC had debts of 11 million lei to the natural gas suppliers. Now the debts total 8 million lei, but the gas suppliers do not want to accept the debt rescheduling timetable.
In this connection, the mayor general of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca said that the problems and the debts were generated by the populism of the Communist councilors and their acolytes, who did not allow that the tariffs be adjusted to the price of a Gcal of heat supplied by Termocom SA. Thus, the consumers supplied with heat by Termocom pay 540 lei/Gcal, while those who receive heat from the ACC’s boiler rooms – 233 lei. A deficit of 11 million lei appeared in the budget of the water supplier as a result of this populism.
The mayor said that he now sees two ways out: to negotiate a debt rescheduling timetable with Moldova-Gaz or to take out a loan from Infocom to pay the debts of SA Apa-Canal.
