Two pedestrians killed in road accidents

Two pedestrians died in traffic accidents on Monday, October 19. Tudor Capatana, spokesman for the General Police Commissariat, has told Info-Prim Neo that a 66-year-old resident of Vadul lui Voda town was found dead on the roadside in Balabanesti village. The man had injuries typical of road accidents. The traffic police are searching for the car that struck the man. A 1474 taxicab hit fatally a woman aged 49 on Gradina Botanica St in Chisinau. Three pedestrians were taken to the hospital after they had been involved in car accidents. A 65-year-old man was struck by a car on Albisoara St in Chisinau, a 22-year-old man from Gherman village of Orhei district was hit by a car on Renasterii Blvd., while a woman aged 18 was struck at the intersection of Paris and Lipcani streets. A ten-year-old girl was injured in a collision between two cars on Mitropolit Dosoftei St. The girl was traveling in one of the cars. A boy aged 8 was rushed to the hospital after he was involved in a car accident at the intersection of Corobceanu and Serghei Lazo streets. The fourteen road accidents that happened in Moldova yesterday and last night resulted in two deaths and eight persons injured. One person was killed and five injured in traffic accidents in Chisinau. As many as 168 car accidents have occurred in Moldova this month. They claimed 30 lives. 183 persons were hurt. A number of 302 persons have been killed in road accidents this year.
