US provides $12m worth of medical aid to Moldova

The United States is offering medical aid valued at $12 million to Moldova. A C-17 heavy-lift aircraft carrying the consignment, which includes drugs and consumables, is expected to land at the Chisinau Airport on Saturday. The U.S. Embassy's press service told Info-Prim Neo that the aid is provided under the U.S. Department of State’s Operation Provide Hope humanitarian assistance program. The medicines and medical consumables have been purchased under a public-private partnership by the authorities, NGOs and American businesses. The donation event will be attended by Prime Minister Vlad Filat, Health Minister Andrei Usatii,U.S. Ambassador to Moldova William Moser, and Daniel Rosenblum, Coordinator of U.S. Assistance to Europe and Eurasia.
