The simple motion initiated by the Socialists against Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Andrei Galbur will fail, spokesman for the Democratic Party (PDM) Vitalie Gamurari said after the party’s working meeting. “We consider he works and achieves the set objectives by implementing the government program, especially as regards the European integration. That’s why we think that this motion will fail,” stated Vitalie Gamurari, quoted by IPN.
The statements made by President Igor Dodon in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, especially his doubts about the benefits for Moldova of the Association Agreement with the EU, was another subject discussed today by the PDM. “We remind that the foreign policy of the Republic of Moldova is implemented by the Government of the Republic of Moldova and by Parliament and derives from the obligations assumed by Moldova at international level, including those undertaken through the Association Agreement with the European Union. These statements by President Dodon are detrimental to the course chosen by the Republic of Moldova,” stated Vitalie Gamurari.
In the same meeting, there was presented the plan of action for implementing the Regional Development Strategy for 2016-2020. Vitalie Gamurari said the plan contains a number of measures that refer to access to water and sewerage, modernization of buildings, support for the local business etc. A sum of 7 billion lei will be allocated for putting the plan into practice both from internal sources and from external funds. The plan is to be approved by the Government of the Republic of Moldova.
