The state-owned enterprise Moldova’s Railway (CFM) will receive diesel fuel from the state reserve for another month, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Vladimir Bolea announced in the program "At 360 degrees" on Radio Moldova. According to him, the support is provided by the Government so that the CFM can continue the freight transport and thus generate revenues and pay employees' salaries, IPN reports.

"We decided that the CFM will receive another 250 tonnes of diesel from the state reserve for one more month so that it can fulfill its obligations to transport goods and can earn its financial resources," said the minister.

In order to accumulate additional financial resources, the CFM’s administration, together with the Public Property Agency (PPA), launched auctions to sell used wagons of the enterprise. The minister stressed that this measure, although it is a temporary one, is necessary to collect funds to reduce salary arrears.

"The interim director of the CFM told me that the payments are now made for September. Together with the PPA, they organize auctions. They have many decades-old wagons that are going to be sold in order to collect financial resources. They will sell and pay the salaries. The payment of salaries is the number one objective of the CFM’s leadership," said Vladimir Bolea.

Currently, the CFM has 4,800 employees and the enterprise faces major difficulties in fulfilling its salary obligations. The CFM announced through a press release that an outcry auction to sell ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal will take place on April 16. Also, auctions to sell used locomotives and wagons are held in the course of April.
