Secretary of state of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Cuc will be named ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to the Swiss Confederation and, simultaneously, the country’s permanent representative to the UN Office in Geneva. The advisory opinion on the agreed candidate was approved by the parliamentary commission for foreign policy and European integration, IPN reports.
Vladimir Cuc has a bachelor’s degree in international relations and a master’s degree in the same field. He started his career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2004, where he worked in several subdivisions and was responsible for various fields: cooperation with the OSCE, the EU-Republic of Moldova political dialogue, the Eastern Partnership.
Since 2021, he has served as secretary of state at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to the law on diplomatic service, proposals for the appointment of ambassador are submitted to the Cabinet by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, in consultation with the Parliament’s commission for foreign policy and European integration.
