The winners of the 2024 National Award were designated after the National Award Commission examined 24 files with last year's achievements of the participants in art, science, literature, cinematography, culture, medicine and sports, IPN reports.
The winners of the contest were decided by secret ballot. The list of laureates will be presented after it is approved by the Cabinet. Subsequently, details about the date and place of the award ceremony will be announced.
Prime Minister Dorin Recean underlined the candidates' contribution to the development of the fields in which they operate, stressing that the people who bring value added to our society must be supported.
"It is necessary to talk more about these achievements and tell the citizens about our value as a society. We have talents, innovations and extraordinary people who achieve results that are important for the future of the Republic of Moldova," said Dorin Recean, who chaired the meeting of the National Award Commission.
The Government awards up to 10 prizes and these include the diploma, the medal and the monetary reward of 100,000 lei.
