Remarkable personalities from the field of theater and the best theater plays that in 2018 brought value added to Moldovan arts were awarded at a festivity of the 18th UNITEM Awards Gala on March 25. Thus, the play “The Viscount” staged at the Municipal Puppet Theater “Guguță” was named the best dramatic play, while the award for the most valuable debut went to Elena Frunze-Hatman for the part of Ana Frank in the play “Journal of Ana Frank” put on at “A. Mateevici” Theater, IPN reports.
Daniela Burlaca was awarded for the best female role in the play “Gardenia” presented at “Geneza Art” Theater, while the award for the best male role was won by Alexandru Shishkin for the part played in “The Barber of Siberia” at the Youth Dramatic Theater “From the Rose Street”. The award for the best secondary female role went to Dana Ciobanu of “Geneza Art” Theater, while the award for the best secondary male role to Petru Hadârcă of the National Theater “M. Eminescu”. The best roles in puppet theater were played by Nina Lefter and Natalia Brăguță of the National Puppet Theater “Licurici”.
The special jury award went to the play “Retro” by Alexandru Galin presented at the National Theater “V. Alecsandri” of Balti. The award for the best direction was handed over to Alexiei Visarion of the National Theater “M. Eminescu”. The award “Curtain Man” was given to Valeriu Rachinski of the Theater “Luceafărul”, while the award fort the best lyrical theater creation was won by Mariana Bulicanu of the National Opera House “Maria Bieșu".
The play “Charmed Princess” put on at the National Puppet Theater “Licurici” was named the best puppet theater play. The play “Rendezvous with Life” staged at the Drama and Comedy Theater “N. Aronetskaya” of Tiraspol was awarded for the best choreography and bodily expression. The play “Ion Creangă. Story of Recollections” emerged victorious in the radio and TV theater creation category. “Sleeping Beauty” presented by the Youth Dramatic Theater “From the Rose Street” was named the best children’s play.
Ekaterina Slimova was awarded for the best theatrical costumes in the play “Hamlet (rat race)” put on at the National Theater Satiricus “I.L. Caragiale”. The award for the best scenography went to Irina Gurin of the National Theater “M. Eminescu”, while Oleg Herescu of the Tiraspol Drama and Comedy Theater “N. Aronetskaya” won the award for the best musical creation.
The UNITEM President Awards went to Liubovi Roshina for artistic management and to Vitalia Grigoriu, master of arts at the National Theater “Luceafărul”. Olga Anghelici and Elena Frunze-Hatman were awarded for acting, Alexandru Krylov of the Theater Satiricus “Ion Luca Caragiale”, actor and director Cătălin Lungu of the Municipal Puppet Theater “Guguță” and Eugeniu Matkovski of “Ion Luca Caragiale” Theater for direction.
The award “Nelly Cameneva” went to the State Russian Dramatic Theater “A. P. Chekhov” for the play “A night with Don Juan”. Slavean Vlad of the Balti Theater “Vasile Alecsandri” won the award “Alexandru Fetco” for the best manager. The award for criticism “Leonid Cemortan” was given to Ion Diviza of “Ion Luca Caragiale” Theater.
Tatiana Dicusar, of the State Dramatic Theater “Nadejda Aronetskaya” won the award “Nadejda Aronetskaya”, while the award “Petru Baracci” went to master of arts Vitalie Țapeș. “Pavel Proca” was won by actor Boris Bechet, “Constantin Constantinov” by people’s artist Eufrosinia Capmari, while “Ion Sandri Shcurea” by actor Iurie Suveică.
The award “Anatol Pânzaru” was conferred on emeritus artist Vitalie Jacota, “Valeriu Cupcea” on Ludmila Gheorghiță of “Ion Luca Caragiale” Theater, “Victor Ciutac” on Oleg Merioară of the Cahul Theater “Bogdan - Petriceicu Hașdeu”, while “Titus Jukov” on director Dana Strungaru.
Master of arts Mihai Timofti won the award “Eugeniu Ureche”. The award “Veniamin Apostol” went to Alexandru Grecu of “Ion Luca Caragiale” Theater, while “Eugenia Tudorașcu” to the play “Mother Courage and Her Children” put on at the Youth Dramatic Theater “From the Rose Street”.
Poet and dramatist Andrei Strâmbeanu, Vladimir Zavaleonyi and actor Nicolae Darie were awarded for their activity in theater. The Excellence Award went to emeritus artist Viorel Cornescu and actor and director Nicolae Poghirc.
