The low-cost airline Wizz Air is expanding its operations at the Chisinau International Airport. The operator assigned a second aircraft and launched three new routes: to Barcelona (Spain), Larnaca (Cyprus) and Wroclaw (Poland), IPN reports.
The airline's representatives told a press conference on Monday that the new services will be put into operation from August 2025. This expansion will allow to increase the frequency of flights on 7 existing routes and 3 newly introduced routes.
In this regard, the airline plans to employ 74 crew members and basic personnel in the Republic of Moldova.
"The expansion of the Wizz Air base at the Chisinau International Airport is an important step for Moldova's international connectivity," said the Airport’s acting manager Sergiu Spoială. He added that the partnership with Wizz Air brings economic benefits and contributes to the development of the airport infrastructure in the Republic of Moldova.
