A Chisinau woman was arrested on suspicion of plotting an assassination. The woman wanted a 41-year-old man killed, as he allegedly owed her money.
The Prosecutor General's Office said that the woman was monitored by law enforcement officers, after she attempted to identify an assassin with combat experience in Donbass (separatist region of Ukraine), for the purpose of “eliminating” a man.
An undercover officer presented himself as the gun for hire.
The woman was detained while transferring the second installment of money. The 56-year-old woman was detained for 72 hours. Prosecutors will press charges against her and present the arrest warrant in court.
The woman faces up to 20 years in prison or life imprisonment for her actions.
