Woman finds husband dead on return from vacation

A 59-year-old woman from Chisinau returned from a vacation spent abroad and discovered her husband aged 62 dead in the house. The man was killed with a knife. According to medical examiners, the body had stayed in the house for at least three days. Adrian Jovmir, spokesman for the General Police Commissariat, has told Info-Prim Neo that the police arrested a suspect living in one of the neighboring blocks. The 25-year-old man admitted his guilt and related how he killed the victim. He said that on July 21 he went to visit the man. They drank alcoholic beverages together and then started to quarrel. He took a kitchen knife and stabbed him in the neck. The victim died on the spot. He tried to hide the crime and staged a theft. He locked the door and threw the keys into a garbage bin. The young man faces 8 to 15 years in jail for intentional murder.
