The reconstruction works on the Stair of Cascades in “Valea Morilor” Park in Chisinau will last for one year or one year and a half and will require investments of about 12 million lei. The authorities expect that after the Stair is repaired, it will serve for at least 50 years. On February 3, Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca inspected the building site, IPN reports.
The mayor said the major goal is for the Stair of Cascades to be functional and to preserve the initial elements. Both the lateral lighting and the decorative lighting of the Stair will be restored, as they were in the 1960s.
To facilitate the works in the area, a number of trees were cut after representatives of the State Ecological Inspectorate and the Botanical Garden carried out inspections on the spot. The project is coordinated with a number of state institutions.
The Stair of Cascades was built in 1925 and was reconstructed in 1954.
