MP Zinaida Greceanyi, who recently left the Communist parliamentary group, said she is ready psychologically and morally to become President of Moldova. Asked if she will join the Party of Socialists together with Igor Dodon, Zinaida Greceanyi stated she has not yet taken a decision, Info-Prim Neo reports. The statements for the press were made during a charity event. “Discussions were held and will continue to be held. I think it is premature to make statements now,” Zinaida Greceanyi said when asked if she will apply for the presidency. “Everything depends on the conditions,” she added. As to the political orientation, Zinaida Greceanyi said that if she has not yet joined a party, it means that she is not yet ready. “But the future will show,” she stated. Asked to comment on the declaration issued by the Central Committee of the Communist Party, where the three lawmakers who left the Communist parliamentary group are named traitors, Zinaida Greceanyi said she expected such a reaction as the first statements are always emotive. “I hope that after analyzing things, my former colleagues will understand why we defected and will change their views. I regret certain emotive and possibly incorrect declarations,” she said. Zinaida Greceanyi, Igor Dodon and Veronica Abramchuk left the Communist parliamentary group a week ago, arguing they want to contribute to the election of the head of state.
