Exports of domestic goods in 2023 amounted to US$2.870.1 billion, down 3.2% compared to 2022. Romania remained the main destination country of exports of goods from Moldova – 35.1% of the total, being followed by Ukraine – 14.7% and Italy – 6.4%, IPN reports.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, re-exports of foreign goods (after processing and classical goods) in 2023 came to US$1.178.5 billion dollars, by 13.7% less than in 2022.
Exports of goods to European Union countries totaled US$2.646.8 billion (up 4.3% on 2022), accounting for 65.4% of the exports, up 6.8 percentage points on 2022.
In 2023, compared to 2022, exports of petroleum, petroleum products and related products (-28.9%), fixed, crude, refined or fractionated vegetable fats and oils (-34%), oil seeds and fruits (-27.9%), road vehicles (-36.6%), organic chemicals (-40.4%) decreased.
At the same time, exports of electrical machinery and appliances and parts thereof (+17.9%), alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages (+14.6%), vegetables and fruit (+6.9%), industrial machinery and devices, parts and detached parts of these machines (+48.7%), animal feed (+20.6%) increased.
