The air conditioning systems in buildings will be subject to regular inspections so as to determine and increase their energy performance. The regulations governing the inspections were approved by the Cabinet on November 14, IPN reports.
Independent experts will be trained to certify the energy performance of buildings and to inspect the conditioning systems. There will be instituted a system for controlling the quality and compliance of certificates and reports on the inspection of air conditioning and ventilation systems and a system for informing end users.
Under the regulations, the air conditioning systems will be inspected once in five years in case of the purchase and renting of buildings or in case of major renovation.
The cost of the regular inspection can vary between €100 and €300 per system, depending on the nominal power and complexity of the installation.
The public sector will pay for the regular inspection of the air conditioning systems from the funds planned for repair works. The private sector (households) will cover the costs depending on the nominal power of the centralized air conditioning and ventilation systems.
