The man who is suspected of sexually abusing a three-year-old girl in a Chisinau kindergarten was put under arrest for a period of 30 days, deputy mayor of Chisinau Nistor Grozavu announced in the August 23 meeting of officials of the municipal services and subdivisions, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. Grozavu requested setting up a municipal commission that will investigate the case and identity all the persons who are to blame. He demanded that the Division of Education, Youth and Sport should issue an ordinance describing the steps that must be taken to prevent similar cases. The deputy mayor said the results of the laboratory tests will be made known today. They will show if the child was subjected to sexual abuse or not. The head of Chisinau's Centru district Vladimir Sarban said the police officers who did not accept the complaint of the girl's parents and directed them from one police commissariat to another will be penalized. He announced that an internal inquiry was launched into this case. Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb, the head of the Chisinau Division of Education,Youth and Sport, said all the persons working in the administration of the kindergarten who are to blame will be punished. Psychologists will be working with the little girl. Tverdohleb said she will ask the Chisinau Council to provide financial resources for hiring guards at kindergartens and schools so as to prevent foreigners from entering these institutions. The mayor general's consultant Lilian Carp said the 31-year-old suspect is the son of an educator. Three days ago, a man abused sexually a three-year-old girl in the bedroom of kindergarten No. 23 situated in Centru district. The children remained without supervision for about half an hour. The girl has two sisters aged four years and, respectively, seven months. The suspect has a child aged four. If found guilty, he will serve up to 20 years behind bars.
