Case of couple of swindlers who cheated people, promising them work in Norway sent to court

The Prosecutor’s Office of Ciocana district remitted the case opened against a couple who during over a year had swindled more than €66,000 out of 40 persons, promising they will help them find employment in Norway, to court, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Prosecutor General’s Office. According to the prosecutors, the couple devised an elaborate scheme. The wife convinced the victims that she can find work for them abroad and collected copies of the identification papers from them, while the husband accompanied the woman to meetings, sustained her statements and told the cheated persons he will go with them to Norway. On July 22, the court extended the warrant for the woman’s arrest for another 90 days. The man is investigated on the outside. The woman had been earlier convicted of swindle, while the man of robbery. They now face 8 to 15 years in jail.
