Cold-month allowances in Chisinau municipality in the 2014-2015 heating season will be given to families that during the last 12 months had an average income lower than 2,000 lei a month per family member. The people who received such allowances the previous heating season will submit only confirmation applications so that they get the benefit this season too, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué of the Chisinau City Hall, the cold-month allowance for heat and warm water supplied in a centralized way represents 40% of the sum calculated monthly. Those who use natural gas, electricity, wood and coal to heat their homes will receive 450 lei a month per family, while the solitary pensioners will get 900 lei a month.

The applications started to be filed when the heating season was launched officially and can be lodged until the end of the heating season. Those who are eligible will receive compensations for the entire heating season, regardless of the date when the application is submitted. The applications are filed to the municipal housing sector managing companies No. 1 – 23.

The people who haven’t received cold-month allowances until now, but meet the criteria can also submit applications to receive such benefit. The applicants must present a copy of the identity card, copies of the birth certificates of their children, the copy of the marriage certificate, a certificate about the composition of the family, a certificate about the area of the apartment (house) and the type of heating, a certificate about the salary for the last 12 months from the workplace, and other documents.
