The National Food Safety Agency has relaunched a campaign entitled “Stop ragweed” to combat the spread of this invasive plant, which causes allergies. The citizens are encouraged to notify of the presence of ragweed by sending a message to the Viber number 067144111, IPN reports.

Ragweed pollen is one of the most powerful natural allergens. In recent years, more and more people have experienced allergic reactions due to this plant. Exposure to ragweed pollen can cause allergic rhinitis, conjunctivitis, can worsen respiratory problems and even cause serious complications.

Landowners have the obligation to take measures to eliminate ragweed. Otherwise, fines can be imposed on them. It is important that the plant should be destroyed before the flowering period, to prevent the pollen from dispersing.
