The National Health Insurance Company CNAM has contracted out additional medical services under a number of programs available to enrolles this year. This includes about 200 cataract surgeries valued at 2.3 million lei, and also 15 cochlear implant operations, including expensive consumables, amounting to 7.4 million lei.
Another 2.3 million lei will go to cover 200 extra cases of pediatric rehabilitation.
Also, CNAM supplemented by 3.8 million lei the contractual amounts for expensive medicines used in inpatient care. In particular, this money will go to treat premature babies for neonatal deficiency respiratory distress syndrome, and also for stroke treatment.
Additionally, increased volumes of community care and homecare have been contracted out, including nearly 1,000 visits valued at 280,000 lei.
“Increasing access to medical services and their quality is one of the company’s priorities”, said CNAM director Ion Dodon, as quoted in a press release.
