CRIn program aims to strengthen inter-ethnic relations in context of EU integration

The Interethnic Relations Agency launches the CRIn National Program, aiming to strengthen interethnic relations in Moldova in the context of EU integration. The program is supported by the Moldovan Government and has a budget of 2 million lei.

Veaceslav Reabcinschii, general director of the Interethnic Relations Agency, said that he would have liked to have a grant program for organizations, but this year it is not possible. Next year this program will also offer grants. The goal is to increase the capacities of social consolidation in Moldova. Various activities will take place at the initiative of local authorities and ethnic organizations. The budget for this year is 2 million lei.

MP Marcela Adam said that the initiative also comes in the context of the government’s commitment to develop the communities in Moldova. “Every citizen, regardless of ethnicity, wants peace and conditions of development for their children”, declared Adam.

Vitalie Mrug, co-president of the Civil Society Coordinating Council to the ARI, said that the European integration of the country also means protecting the rights of national minorities.

During the event, an appeal was launched and signed by the country’s ethnic communities to build a model of inter-ethnic relations according to the legal framework and policy model of the EU.
