Economic Appellate Court orders Chisinau Electric Bus Company to pay off over 14m lei
The Chisinau Economic Appellate Court ordered the local Electric Bus Company (EBC) to pay more than 14 million lei worth of debt to Ukraines Electro-Plus Ltd. EBC appealed the judgment in a higher court.
EBC director Gheorghe Morgoci has told Info-Prim Neo that there is no risk for the company's bank accounts to be seized, as the case is still in court.
“We are now waiting for the court to rule on another case concerning our situation, a case in which the Prosecutor General's Office defends the interests of the government and the Electric Bus Company and challenges the decision of the Kiev Economic Court”, said Morgoci.
As things develop, Chisinau Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca is growing concerned about the normal functioning of the public conveyance system of the city, which relies greatly on trolleybuses. The mayor alleges this is a new attempt to push the City Hall into insolvency: “When 1 million euros is at stake, I now see what's going on here”.
