The first interventions with non-slip material could take place this evening in the north of the country. Road workers and employees of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations are ready to intervene, and in case of necessity, the crisis cell will be convened. The information was presented at the meeting of the Commission for Exceptional Situations, organized by the Government, IPN reports.
The Minister of Economy and Infrastructure, Anatol Usatîi, has said that 70% of the necessary non-slip materials are stored. Quantities will be supplemented early next year. Because this autumn has been milder, so far no anti-slip material has been spread.
IGSU chief Mihail Harabagiu has said that the situation is under control. The intervention machinery and equipment was checked. Following a meeting with the responsible authorities, it was agreed to issue recommendations to local public authorities to convene commissions for exceptional situations at local level to evaluate their capabilities.
The Minister of Education, Culture and Research, Corneliu Popovici, mentioned that a meeting was convened with the heads of district departments, but also with the heads of technical education institutions. There have been discussed the following subjects: providing the heating agent, the children’s nutrition, transporting the pupils to school in winter. Deficiencies were found in several schools, but the situation is monitored.
The Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection, Viorica Dumbrăveanu, said that in all medical and social institutions the thermal agent was connected. In exceptional cases, the institutions have electricity generators. In addition, there is a reasonable stock of medicines and consumables, as well as food.
Prime Minister Ion Chicu asked the leaders to ensure the preparation of the institutions for the winter. "Colleagues, I warn you, children should not be put in situations where they need to show heroism when going to kindergarten or school in winter time. I want the study process to be very well organized”, asked Ion Chicu. "The Ministry of Economy must ensure the supply of natural gas throughout the territory of the Republic of Moldova, while the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Defense must intervene in case of emergency", the prime minister requested.
