The Embassy of Georgia in Moldova and the Georgian National Tourism Administrations call on the citizens of Moldova to discover Georgia after 25 years of independence. According to Georgian officials, a lot of things changed in Georgia in the period and the country became an exceptional tourist destination, IPN reports.

Attending an event held to present the country as a tourist destination, Georgia’s Ambassador to Moldova Merab Antadze said that Georgia has always been an attractive country, including because of the diversity of its tourism forms. The communication with the people of Georgia remains the most important tourist attraction as these are similar to the Moldovans – kindhearted and hospitable. “They have always considered in Georgia that the guest is God’s messenger. Therefore, each guest is welcomed warmly and openly in our country,” stated the ambassador.

The diplomat recommends those who will visit Georgia, especially its capital Tbilisi, to go to the old town where there are an Orthodox Christian church, a Catholic church, a synagogue, an Armenian church and Shia and Sunni mosques on a small area. All those people of different nationalities live together and Georgia has never witnessed interethnic conflicts.

The representatives of the Georgian National Tourism Administration said the number of Moldovans who visited Georgia in 2015 rose by about 30%. A lot was invested in the country’s development over the last few years, particularly in infrastructure, and recently Georgia obtained the status of first European civilization.

The Administration’s representatives also said that Georgia is attractive to tourists not only owing to its cultural heritage, gastronomy and wines, but also to its security. There is practically no corruption in Georgia, while the police there do their job consciously.
