The judges who turned 50 will be able to choose from two possibilities – to retire or to continue to work until the age of 65. In the second case, they will receive only the salary, IPN reports, quoting a bull with amendments to the legislation concerning the pension of judges.
The amendments specify the conditions in which the judges will retire. The judges who turned 50 and have a length of service of at least 20 years, 12 and a half of which in the post of judge, will be entitled to seniority pension of 55% of the monthly pay and guaranteed benefits of a judge in the last post held. For every additional year to the seniority of 20 years as judge, they will receive 3% of all the guaranteed monthly benefits of a judge, but not more than 80% of this sum.
The judges who are now paid pension, but continue to work as judges will receive pension in the size set when the law takes effect. When the judges resign or are dismissed at request when they reach retirement, the pension will be recalculated based on the guaranteed monthly benefits of a judge, when an application is filed.
