The natural gas consumption in July was 12.1 million cubic meters, which is by 24.3% less compared to the same period last year. Against June 2024, this indicator decreased by 2.8 million cubic meters or about 19%, IPN reports.
According to SA “Moldovagaz”, by July 31, household consumers paid 98.4% of the amounts billed in 2024, which is by 0.4 percentage points more compared to the same period last year. In the case of non-household consumers (legal entities), the transfers represented 98.6% or by 1.2 percentage points more compared to the same period last year. The enterprises operating in the energy and heating sectors fully paid their bills, which is by 4.1 percentage points more compared to the same period last year.
During the reference period, 335 consumption units were disconnected from the natural gas distribution network, the debts of their owners amounting to about 1.1 million lei. At the same time, the condition of preventive payment was applied to 226 consumers, as a consequence of the previous cessation of the natural gas supply for the non-payment on time of the equivalent value of the consumed natural gas.
“The level of payments for natural gas consumption on July 31 amounted to 99% or 6.198 billion lei, which is by 33.2 percent less compared to the same period last year,” said Moldovagaz.
