Literary competition on mothers for Romanian children and young people from everywhere

Romanian children and young people from everywhere can take part in a contest-festival of poetry and prose titled “Thoughts about MAMMA”. Project coordinator Elena Chise has told IPN that the event is designed to help the children and young people realize their creative potential by promoting the expression of love, affection and gratitude for the mother and the Romanian language.

The competiton consists of three age categories: 6-10 years, 11-14 years, 15-18 years. Each child/young person can compete with at most two works (poem and/or prose) in the Romanian language in each section, with works of their choice about mothers. Competitors’ works can be sent to ganduridespremama@gmail.com by February 25.

The jury will consist of public figures, such as writers and university professors. Elena Chise said that works from different corners of Moldova and Germany have been received so far. The organizers were also contacted by partner associations from the Netherlands, Italy and Belgium, which expressed their readiness to take part.

The award ceremony will be held online. The winners of the competition will be offered sets of books and digital participation diplomas, while their works will be broadcast on Romanian language radio stations and published in Romanian Newspapers of the Diaspora.

The contest-festival of poetry and prose “Thoughts about MAMMA” is staged for the first time by the German-Romanian Association LITERA Bruchsal of Germany, on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
