The Ministry of Education and Research aims to attract 2,000 students to dual education in 2024, which would be a significant increase compared to last year. So far, companies have submitted about 2,000 applications. In this connection, Minister of Education and Research Dan Perciun urged vocational schools and colleges to get involved in dual education. The statements were made at the national conference “Organization and conduct of dual education”, IPN reports.

Dan Perciun said he wants an education system that prepares well-trained people for the labor market and responds to employers’ demands. This cannot happen if the education system and the employers do not communicate with each other. If there is dialogue, there is also a guarantee that training in vocational schools or colleges meets the requirements of employers. There is nothing better than when, the student learns the necessary skills for a job in dual education, at the workplace, also having the theoretical part behind.

Sergiu Harea, chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, noted that 171 companies and 44 institutions have applied for dual education. This is an increase of over 40% compared to last year.

Guido Beltrani, Director of the Swiss Cooperation Office, which supports dual education in Moldova, noted that due to dual education, Switzerland is among the countries with the lowest unemployment rate in Europe for young people under the age of 20. The system is also implemented with great success in Germany, Austria. Switzerland is currently financing two projects in this sector in the Republic of Moldova and is in the process of further increasing funding to support the field.

In the conference, there were presented the opportunities and advantages of dual education for students and economic agents operating in IT, energy, production and other sectors, as well as the development prospects of this field.
