Men’s Day could be marked in Moldova on November 19

Democratic MP Valentina Buliga suggested instituting the Men’s Day in Moldova. According to a bill that she registered with the Parliament’s secretariat, the Men’s Day will be celebrated annually on November 19, IPN reports.

In the informative note to the bill, Valentina Buliga says that Parliament adopted the Law on Equality of Chances between men and women, but this law is the result of the promotion of a fundamental right of the European Union – equality of chances between both of the sexes.

The MP noted that the International Women’s Day is marked in Moldova each year. Among the goals of this holiday is to combat discrimination against women. But in Moldova there is no day to focus on the discrimination against men and boys.

According to Valentina Buliga, the International Men’s Day is celebrated also on November 19 and this initiative is designed to regulate gender equality, on the one hand, and the equality of chances between women and men, on the other hand.

The MP didn’t propose specific events for this day.
