The Military Academy of the Armed Forces “Alexandru cel Bun” celebrates its 29th birthday. In time, the institution trained thousands of highly-qualified specialists for the national security and defense system. “This accomplishment wasn’t achieved easily. A lot of effort, perseverance and work are there behind it,” Minister of Defense Anatolie Nosatîi stated in an anniversary celebration held in the Academy’s yard. On this occasion, a number of service members and teachers were handed over National Army awards, IPN reports.

“I would like to thank all those who helped build the institution – the administration, teaching staff and military staff involved in the process of training future officers,” started Anatolie Nosatîi.

In connection with World Teachers’ Day that is observed on October 5, Anatolie Nosatîi congratulated all the teachers, saying that despite the pandemic, they managed to work at the same level, while the military students can study in accordance with the education programs.

The Academy has 220 students, 50 of whom are girls. It trains officers in the following specialties: infantry, artillery, communications and informatics. The studies for a bachelor’s degree last for three years and the students are fully maintained by the state, the accommodation, food and military equipment being free.

The institution’s rector, colonel Anatolie Bucuci has told IPN that the Academy during 29 years achieved appreciable results. “The Military Academy is an institution that fully asserted itself and became stronger. We have programs of study at all the three cycles envisioned by the Bologna Process – studies for a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree and doctor’s degree. Our institution successfully fulfills all its duties,” stated Anatolie Bucuci.

The Military Academy of the Armed Forces “Alexandru cel Bun” marks 29 years of its founding on October 3. According to tradition, this day is a nonworking day for employees and the festivity was therefore held earlier.
