A minor died in a road accident on the Cahul ring road last night. He was a passenger in a car driven by a drunk man, who lost control of the steering wheel. The car skidded off the road and overturned. The General Police Inspectorate said that the driver was detained, IPN reports.
The 22-year-old driver had two passengers in the car. One of them was the 17-year-old minor, who did not have his seat belt fastened and was thrown out of the vehicle when the accident occurred.
The driver was tested with a breathalyzer and this showed a concentration of 0.81 mg/l of alcohol in the exhaled air, which means an advanced intoxication.
