The Republic of Moldova will be able to access European funds for the implementation of employment and social innovation projects. Parliament gave two readings to the bill to ratify the agreement with the European Union on Moldova’s participation in the Employment and Social Innovation strand of the European Social Fund Plus, IPN reports.

The Employment and Social Innovation strand of the European Social Fund Plus, in which the Republic of Moldova will participate, aims to create as many jobs as possible and guarantee social protection. It also goes to the combating of social exclusion and poverty and improvement of working conditions.

The budget for this strand is €762 million, planned for 2021-2027. Respectively, legal entities from Moldova will be able to submit projects to benefit from financing. The projects will be agreed during direct negotiations with the European Commission.

The European Social Fund Plus is the EU’s main instrument for investing in people and has a budget of €99.3 billion for the period 2021-2027. It is noteworthy that the Republic of Moldova also participates in other European financing instruments, including “Customs”, FISCALIS and LIFE.
