Moldovan and German young persons arrange graves of soldiers killed in World War II

A group of young people from Moldova and Germany during two weeks looked after graves of soldiers who died in the Second World War. The project “Work for Peace” is implemented in Moldova for the first time and is supported by a German association, Info-Prim Neo reports. The young people arranged graves in the cemeteries in Gratiesti, Serpeni, Milestii Mici and at the memorial complex “Eternitate”. On the completion of the project, its implementers and German Ambassador in Moldova Berthold Johannes laid flowers at the complex “Eternitate”. “We must never forget about those who were killed in war while fighting to liberate Europe from the Nazi regime. We want cooperation, peaceful coexistence and competition between countries,” said the diplomat. Inga Zaim, a participant in the project from Moldova, said that while working together with the German partners they exchanged information about the customs and traditions of their countries. Another participant, who studies at the Teacher Training University “Ion Creanga” in Chisinau, said he made new friends and found out more details about persons killed in battle. The project “Work for Peace” has been implemented in Germany for 10 years. In Moldova, it was carried out for the first time.
