The members of Moldova’s Parliament on Thursday observed a moment of silence in memory of the victims of the war in Ukraine after such a proposal was formulated by MP of the Bloc of Communists and Socialists Adrian Albu, IPN reports.
“Any military conflict is a tragedy. Regrettably, we are often in the situation when states that are not part of these conflicts, are indirectly involved or suffer because of this. For example, we remember how the Republic of Moldova was affected following calls to attack Transnistria, which is also part of the Republic of Moldova, made by different politicians, the crossing of the national airspace and even the killing of compatriots by drones,” stated Adrian Albu.
According to him, the Party of Socialists is for respecting neutrality and for maintaining peace. “In connection with the aforementioned, we wish peace to all those who are regrettably in an armed conflict that claims lives. Let’s observe a moment of silence in memory of the victims of this conflict, including of the two Moldovans,” noted the Socialist MP.
At the end of July, two Moldovan citizens died as a result of a drone explosion at the Troebortnoe border crossing point in the Russian region Bryansk. One man died on the spot, while the second man died in the hospital in several days.
