Noisy works in blocks will be prohibited on Sundays and public holidays

Noisy construction works will be banned in residential buildings on Sundays and public holidays. Currently, the law prohibits them only in the evening and at night, between 18.00 and 08.00. The extension of the bans is proposed in a draft law that was approved by the parliamentary commission for economy, budget and finance, IPN reports.

“Taking into account the fact that most of the citizens rest on Sundays and public holidays, we consider it necessary to extend the ban on carrying out building works that cause noise to these days,” reads the informative note of the draft law.

The bill also stipulates that during the reconstruction of spaces, it will be forbidden to modify the natural gas supply systems by installing gas-consuming equipment in spaces other than the kitchen or heat generating halls.

It will also be forbidden to carry out thermal insulation and façade color change works in the absence of a building permit for works on the facades of buildings facing boulevards and streets, on buildings with the status of monument, on constructions in their protection areas, except for exterior finishing works that do not modify façade elements and chromatic solutions.

The legislative initiative was worked out by PAS MP Vasile Grădinaru and will be submitted to Parliament for consideration.
