Number of violations related to stay in border area goes up

In summer, the number of border crossings has increased, but the violations related to the non-observance of the stay in the border area have also grown in number. Since June 1, there were recorded 83 violations of the rules of entering and leaving the border area involving 120 persons. In most of the cases, among the perpetrators are young people who choose to spend the leisure time on the banks of the Prut and the Nistru without warning the Border Police, young people who drink alcohol and swim to the opposite banks of the rivers, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the Border Police.

The authorities noted that the access to the border area is allowed based on permits issued by subdivisions of the Border Police. The persons who live in the border area, who travel on roads that cross the border area and employees of the public authorities based in the area do not need a permit.

In the border area, the economic and other types of activities performed by private individuals and legal entities should not cause damage to the health of the population, the security of the Republic of Moldova and the neighboring states and should not hamper the supervision of the state border.

The Border Police calls on the inhabitants of the border area to obey the rules and behave decently when they rest on banks of rivers in the border area. The parents are recommended not to allow the children to go swimming unsupervised.
