The parents of soldiers who died while doing the military service will receive monthly allowances of 500 lei. The monthly allowance to one of the unable to work parents of participants in the war for defending the territorial integrity and independence of Moldova and in the Chernobyl cleanup will be raised by 250 lei, to 500 lei, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué from the Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family, if the unable to work parents are divorced, the allowance is divided between them equally, at request.

A relevant bill was passed by Parliament and will take effect when it is published in the Official Gazette.
