A part of the roof of a story with attic-like apartments located on Alba Iulia St in Buiucani district of Chisinau fell down in the evening of January 27. A police patrol and representatives of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service went to the scene and fenced the place. Nobody was hurt, IPN reports.

Twelve rescuers climbed onto the roof and removed the damaged parts that could fell. The works lasted for seven hours.

According to head of the press service of the Chisinau City Hall Vadim Branzaniuc, the attic-like apartments started to be built in the second half of last year. The block is managed by a privatized dwelling owners association. A part of the roof collapsed because the construction works were conserved incorrectly. A meeting to discuss the issue was convened at the Buicani district head’s office.
