The residents of Todirești and Chetrosu villages of Anenii Noi district could bless the Easter foodstuff on the main streets of the localities. The priest, together with the mayor and local police officer, will travel through the villages to bless the food.
Priest Andrei Pârgaru, of the Church “Great Holy Martyr Dumitru” of Chetrosu, has told IPN that the Easter service at the church will be officiated in the absence of parishioners. The people are urged to pray at home.
Later, the priest will walk along the main arteries chanting “Christ is Risen!”. The people are urged to wear protective masks and gloves and keep the social distance. Also, the parishioners older than 60 are urged not to come, but to ask the younger ones to help them with the blessing of food.
The priest called on the Christians not to exaggerate with the food and place only Easter bread and red painted eggs in the Easter basket as these are the symbols of the Resurrection.
Andrei Pârgaru said that after the Easter foodstuff is blessed, the parishioners should celebrate the feast at home as it is a family holiday. The Christians are urged to refrain from celebrations in the open air, barbecues, etc.
