14th tournament “Dmitrie Sturza Trophy” opened

Tennis players from 16 countries are taking part in the 14th international tournament “Dmitrie Sturza Trophy” that is hosted by Moldova during February 12-17, Info-Prim Neo reports. The event included in the international ITF Junior Circuit will involve athletes younger than 18. The men’s team of Moldova consists of Alexandru Cozbinov, Alexandru Rudenko, and Iasha Bichir, while the women’s team includes Alina Soltanici, Alisa Martynov, Ana Testimitanu, and Daniela Ciobanu. The other representatives of Moldova were eliminated in qualifiers. The international tournament “Dmitrie Sturza Trophy” has been organized in Chisinau since 2000. The last time the Moldovan tennis players were victorious at this competition in 2011, when Maxim Dubarenco became the winner. In the previous competitions, Moldova’s champions were Andrei Gorban, Alexandru Andronachi, Denis Molceanov, and Radu Albot.
