About 15% of the members of the central staff of the Customs Service of Moldova do not have the necessary qualifications and will be dismissed. This was established within the certification carried out during June 13-23, IPN reports.
In a press release, the Customs Service says the certification showed that some of the employees are insufficiently prepared for the job held. These know the customs legislation and regulations superficially and have inappropriate professional qualifications for fulfilling their duties. The certification commission proposed considering possibilities of stimulating the employees who showed high professional training.
“The certification of customs officers is one of the most important reform elements through which we aim to increase the professionalism and integrity of employees, ensuring thus the optimization of the work of the whole customs system,” said the Customs Service’s director general Vitalie Vrabie.
The results of the certification in all the subdivisions of the Customs Service will be made public after August 18.
