15 police officers arrested for corruption acts

Fifteen Traffic Police employees were arrested on suspicion of passive corruption. They were taken to the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office for questioning, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a communiqué from the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry’s Internal Security Division organized the catching in the act of the coordinator of a corruption network at the Traffic Police Section of the Chisinau General Police Commissariat. The Section’s head office was searched. Allegedly, the policemen collected regularly money and transmitted it to a person holding a responsible post in the Section. The Internal Security Division had worked on this operation for several weeks. The arrests were made in concert with representatives of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office.
