The Cabinet decided to allocate 15 million lei for modernizing the Chisinau-based National Clinical Hospital, IPN reports.
Money will be allotted from the Government’s reserve fund for improving the technical state of the hospital’s main block and for increasing the quality of medical services provided for the people.
In the same meeting, on July 19, the Cabinet decided that the National Clinical Hospital will be renamed the National Clinical Hospital “Timofei Mosneaga”.
Timofei Mosneaga had worked for 43 years as chief doctor of the medical institution and as minister of health in 1994-1997. Under his guidance, cardiac surgery, thoracic surgery, urology and endocrinology sections and the anesthesiology service were opened in Moldova for the first time.
The National Clinical Hospital started at the end of 1817 and initially had the status of municipal hospital.
