A motorcyclist aged 17 died instantaneously when he was hit by a car not far from Roșcani village of Anenii Noi district at about 6pm on September 12. The 23-year-old driver of the car had an alcohol concentration of 0.91 mg/l in the exhaled air. The information was communicated to IPN by press officer of the Anenii Noi Police Inspectorate Mariana Didenco.
When on the spot, the police determined that the 23-year-old man was travelling at high speed and, losing control of the vehicle, collided head on with the motorcycle driven by the teen aged 17.
Legal action was taken and the driver was arrested. He faces three to seven years in jail and ban on driving.
