As many as 1,700 convicts will be amnestied on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the proclamation of Moldova’s independence. An initiative to this effect was supported by the Government and is to be remitted to Parliament, IPN reports.
Prime Minister Pavel Filip said the persons who committed serious offenses will not be amnestied.
The discharge grants amount to 5.7 million lei. Another 150,000 lei will be spent on documents and procedures related to amnestying.
