Women from both banks of the Nistru river will benefit from financial support to advance their efforts to increase climate resilience. The beneficiaries’ selection competition is organized by the UNDP project "Resilient communities through women empowerment", IPN reports.

Communities will be able to access three types of assistance: for local communities, up to US$40,000; for women agri-producers, in form of goods and services up to $20,000, and for women engaged in economic activities at the household level, in form of services and goods up to $6,000.

The selected communities will benefit from assistance in developing and updating the Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans, and in the next two years they will have access to financial support for implementation.

The deadline for submissions is November 30, 2024 and those interested can apply on the official website of UNDP. Information sessions will be held during November 11-26.

The competition is targeting communities which have already developed Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans, but need adjustments, inclusion of energy poverty elements, gender aspects etc.

The project "Resilient communities through women empowerment" is implemented by UNDP until 2028 and is funded by Sweden and Norway.
