A man aged 24 from Chisinau is liable to three to seven years behind bars for theft attempt. Before March 8, he tried to rob a young woman, but was caught by the police, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the Interior Ministry's press office.
According to the quoted source, the incident occurred on March 7 in the evening at a trolleybus station on Ceucari St in Chisinau. The man attacked a 21-year-old woman waiting for the trolleybus.
Eyewitnesses called the police. The man is now under arrest. He has been recently released from prison after serving five years for theft.
The police this year reported 187 thefts.
