The National Army’s explosive ordnance disposal engineers in July neutralized 45 explosive objects and 500 cartridges throughout the country. According to the Ministry of Defense, one of the most dangerous operations was performed in Cioburciu village of Stefan Voda district, IPN reports.
Senior officer of the Bomb Service, major Ivan Cornegruța, said that in Cioburciu the bomb squad identified and neutralized four artillery shells, a thrower bomb, six hand grenades, nine warheads and 400 cartridges.
In total, the engineers in July carried out 15 demining missions in localities of Stefan Voda, Anenii Noi and Nisporeni districts.
The Ministry of Defense warns the people, if they detect an explosive object, to immediately call the emergency number 112 or to call the local public authorities. The place where the suspicious object is found must be marked. It is strictly forbidden to touch ammunition by hand or with particular objects.
